Default "Red Oil"

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone has tried using "Red Oil?" It may go by other names but the recipe is as follows:

1 quart motor oil
1 quart transmission fluid
1 bottle of STP

Has anyone tried something like this for gun cleaning/lube?

Thanks,
~Robert

Doesn't sound like something I would want on my guns...

Bah my mistake, it is just automatic transmission fluid.

So has anyone tried using ATF to clean and lube their guns?

Thanks

Why would you want to?There are plenty of good safe solvents specifically for guns.Butche's Bore Shine is my choice.

ATF makes a very good gun lube, I use Mobil 1 quite a bit. Check out this article about lubricants and their use with guns.
