Default WSM's and short barrels?

It seems the standard WSM barrel is 24"

Browning uses a 23", which I assume on the .300wsm isn't a big deal, but on the 270wsm, I would think it's getting short?

Sako uses a 22-7/16" 270wsm barrel, and a 24-3/8" 300 wsm barrel.
ie they use their 270win barrel for their 270wsm barrel, and same for the 300win.mag/wsm barrels.

going from 24 to 23 or 24 to 22-7/16" probably isn't much but when say the 270wsm deserves a 26" barrel, going to 23 or less, could be a big deal don't you think?

Are factory 270wsm ballistics taken from 26" barrels? 24" barrels?

Your thoughts??

any centerfire rifle achieves higher MV with a longer barrel to a point. a 223 will achieve higher mv over a 22". I shoot a 6.5 based on a 270 case with a 29" barrel and surpass factory 264 win mag loadings by quite a bit. why would the 270 wsm need a longer barrel than the 300? it will not match the 300 in MV with the same weight bullet unless you run higher pressures.

"Most" published factory ballistics are taken from 24" barrels.
