Default 7mm rem mag???

Question for what bullet size meaning grain is best for shooting out of the 7mmrem mag, because I know the 270win perfers the 130gn and the 30-06 likes the 165gr, ect....... so what grain bullet was the 7mag loaded for??? or what dose it like. and what will perform the best out of it??

My Ruger really likes the 165. But will shoot any grain bullet well. It is really weapon specific. My 308, also a Ruger, didn't shoot the 150gr well, but did very well with 180gr. Some guns are fickle.

I feed mine a steady diet of 160gr bullets, on top of retumbo or H1000. YMMV as to what yours likes, but I prefer heavier bullets for magnums, makes better use of the extra powder IMO.

Mine liked 140 and 160 grain when hand loaded. It also shoots the rem core lokt 150's good too.

My gun likes the 160 to 165 gr. factory rounds. When I load my own, I use the 160 gr. It also does a fine job on game.

My Ruger M77 likes 150 grain. I've used Rem Core Lokts, Federal premium and Win Supreme Silver Ballistic tips. All shoot well in my rifle.

Abolt913,
I like the heavier bullets. Both my 7mags (Browning Abolt and T/C Aristicrat) shoot the 175 grainers well!
