How does the Nikon Monarch compare?

How does the Nikon Monarch 3x9x40 compare to other scopes of comparable price?

I' d put the Monarch up against any scope that costs up to $500.00. I can' t afford to use those high dollar European scopes, so I can' t judge it against them.

I' ve had Monarchs, and one Vari-X III Leupold (just had to try one). I wasn' t impressed with the Leupold. The Nikons were every bit the scope, but didn' t cost near as much.

I have a 4x12 version on my 270 weatherby mag and love it. I perfer it over my leupolds. How is that.

I have the monarch too like it better than the burris,leupol,that I have.Have 6 buckmasters in 3x9 and 4.5x14,like them just as good as the monarch too.

I have bushnell, wetherby, leupold v-1 and 3 , urnital, and nikon buckmasters. I think they are as good as anything else I have.. I am sure that the leupols and urntial are better but my eye can' t tell ..Bill
