i bought one for my daughter last year in a rem model 7 youth,,,it has very low recoil and has good knock down power,,,i think it is a great caliber for deer and smaller game animals

Good for the shooter: Excellent ballistics, low recoil, bullet selection for the handloader is great, it is a versatile round.

Bad for deer: It causes them to catch a sudden case of death.

I FEEL THAT THE 7mm-08 IS PERFECT FOR WHITETAIL DEER, AND THE REMINGTON MODEL 7 IS THE PERFECT RIFLE FOR THIS ROUND!!!!

I also have had good success with this round. As a handloader there are a variety of bullet designs and weights for this cartridge. I favour the 140 gr loads myself
