New gun- g2 contender 45/410 colt. anyone hunt with one?

I just received a g2 contender as a wedding present! I hunt in south western ohio. Im curious as to how well this pistol performs? Type of ammo? Range? And type of scope to mount? Thanks for your input!

First off I would like to say the 45 Colt is my favorite handgun cartridge. In revolver and single shot.

I have owned one, and shot another 45-410 barrel. I was disapointed in the accyuracy of the 45 Colt in those barrels for the Contender.

I have a 45 Colt(only) barrel for my Contender, and it is a very accurate barrel. Personally I just don't think the two cartridge choices together in one barrel is a good idea if accuracy is an issue. If you want the 45 Colt barrel then there are plenty of 45 Colt only barrels out there. If you want the shotgun part of the barrel then get one. Just don't expect much from the 45 Colt part of the combo. But who knows you may get lucky and get one that shoots. I have heard of a few of those. Tom.
