Default ok, its on

started ordering parts to convert my 1982 era 700 7RM to 338 edge
so far its a broughton, 5c, 7.9 conture 32" fluted 9.3 twist tube, a nightforce 5.5x22 NXS, and a space gun chasis by CSS.
smithwork will be done by 308 Nate of Straight Shot Gunsmithing.
Will keep ya posted

decided for this build I would build a tube gun, so usin a LH 700 action and building the barreled action in 338 edge, it will then be mounted into the tube gun chasis. and will end up looking like a long barreled bolt action AR-15, kinda like this

after rerunning the numbers, don't think this one is gonna come in under budget

I didn't know Nate was building tube guns, it should be pretty cool when its all done tho!

I inquired about him putting it togather, he hasn't answered, if he won't I'll just let him do the machine work and I'll bolt it togather.
It will be for target shooting and hunting, bangin steel at a mile and whitetails way out there.

Wow. Now that looks like one of those new sniper rifles on military channel.

Matter of fact, it looks like the new Remington that the army is switching too.
