Default Kimber Solo 9mm

Anybody handled the new Kimber small carry 9mm called the Solo? Just read the review of it in Guns & Ammo and it looks and sounds like a very good option for someone looking for a quality concealable 9mm.

Maybe it's sweet, maybe not. G&A never has anything bad to say about Kimber...they are a major advertiser.

Yeah, I know.. it doesn't surprise me either that the review would be positive, especially in view of the ads Kimber posts in the mag.

However, and this certainly isn't emperical evidence, but the one and only Kimber I've ever handled (my buddies .45) was certainly a fine machine, fit and finish and operation were smooth as silk. It was an upper end model though.

I handled one at the SHOT show. It feels like a well built handgun. The trigger was nice and crisp and wasn't heavy or have long travel like some of the other pistols. The only thing negative I have heard about them is they don't like anything lighter than 124gr bullets. I have three Kimbers and wouldn't mind adding the Solo to my collection.

Thanks Palladin8,

The article did mention that in spite of it being striker fired, it still feels like a very nice, long and smooth DA revolver trigger."

BTW, THE best group turned in by the reveiwer at G&A mag was the 115 gr Hordany FTX round. 1,031 FPS and a 2.25" group @ 25 yrds

I hope to handle one soon and have been looking for a carry gun. I have a couple small semi-auto's in 9 Makarov, but am looking to go with a 9mm parabellum for obvious ammo reasons.

Anybody else with any input or experience with this new Solo, please jump in ...
