Default Remington Sucks...

,,,and I'm a big ol' sucker!! It's not as fancy as what a lot of you guys have but I'm stoked. I hope it shoots as good as the last one, that I should have never let go. I know the Remington and magnum haters won't like it but who cares. It's a Remington 700 XCR 300 Ultra Mag with a Leupold VX-3 4.5x14x50. The gunsmith put on a Holland muzzle brake, floated the barrel, pillar bedded and a 3lb trigger job. I can't wait until Sunday to go to the range.

The only 2 bolts i've owned were both Remingtons i never had one problem with either one. Both were good shooters. The only beef i have with the the one i have now is the stock imo is a cheap stock.

Anyway that's a nice gun you got yourself there Lucky Dog good luck with it.

Hope you post a range report after you get a chance to shoot that beauty. I'm not normally a fan of stainless steel, but even I gotta admit that looks nice.

I just finished up my XHR too; but unlike you I went with the one-piece base. I ordered it before I read that the one piece added less torque to the weapon than two piece. I guess I can double back and replace the base; but I might wait and shoot it and then do it down the road sometime.
