Default Rem. 700 BDL .270

Still in the market for a new rifle and this seems to be the next addition to my collection. Any of you have the Rem. 700 BDL .270? If so, how do you like it? Is $500 a good price for a new one?

i' ve got a remington 700 bdl in .30/06 , i have a .270 in a browning lightning blr. and used to have one in the remington model 7600 pump.

as for the .270 , it' s a great cartridge , and the remington bdl rifel , it' s also a great firearm . what shape is the one in that your looking at and how old is it , does it have the walnut stock and engraved reciever ? i' ve seen some new bdl priced in the $600 range for walnut and blued engraved steel in my local area

$500 is about average ,but there is more than one BDL so it is hard to say . I paid $420 for my last Remington but that was a couple of years ago . I didn' t keep it if that tells you anything .

Sorry, i forgot to mention, the $500 is the price of one brand new. it' s the american walnut stock. heres a pic of the one i want:

Halcon - why didnt you keep the rifle. ive shot a few 700s and they seem like a pretty good rifle to me. my budget won' t let me spend much more, and once i throw a scope on it, im looking at a minimum of spending $750 total. i definitely want to make an informed decision if im going to spend $500 on a new rifle.

$500 for that gun is fine. They are more most places. I personally like Rem' s and have a few that are super. Some folks say the quality isn' t what it used to be...which may be true. But I wouldn' t hesitate to buy another one. BTW if you look at the poll at the top, Rem is preferred 2 to 1 over the next highest. Ultimately it' s your decision which gun you get. .270 is a good all around choice.

Sounds like a fair price, just about average for that rifle. And it will be a good choice on both the make and the caliber. You won' t be sorry!

you could spend alittle bit more and get a nice browning. i beleive you can get a medallion with rosewood caps in that chambering for $600.00 if i am not mistaken.

coolbrezO to answer your question I wasn' t impressed with the gun ,but the main reason is the stock ,and I didn' t fit . I have high cheekbones and have to mount the scope to high on a monte carlo stock . It just wasn' t comfortable to shoot .
