Ugly rifle, but the Edge sounds good...pick up more speed with a Broughton too

.338 lapua?

doesn't the lapua hold more powder? which means you should be able to load it hotter right?

I kinda don't understand for example why a .416 rigby say maxes out at 400@2400 whereas a .416 weatherby can go 2700fps or more? same case, just loaded hotter right?

lapua holds a bit more powder, but the mods required to get it to fit a 700 action are kind of extensive.
correct saluki, the 416 rigby is the 460 without a belt, but the 416 was built way back when so there are rifles made in it that will not stand the 65K PSI of the 460 weatherby, so its downloaded to be safe and the lower limit is set by saami, so some guy doesn't buy hot shells and blow up his vintage rigby.

This looks similar to what Shawn posted over on LRH I think he called it the Defensive Edge LRKM. Same general idea??

not sure jake, thats just a housing that accepts a rem 700 action, figured I'd get shawn to build an action and install it in the chasis, put a mark 4 or a NF up top and have at it
