Default my 1911 at 15 yards

I get to shoot twice a week with some guys from work and so I have been practicing with a recently aquired Springfield 1911 Loaded. We generally shoot playing cards at 15 yards to see who buys lunch the following day, with the person closest to center getting a point and the first person to 10 points wins. I am still learning this pistol, but I am quickly falling in love with it.

This is a 15 yard 7 round grouping shot free-hand from a standing position.

I am happy with it and it seems to be getting more and more accurate, or I may just be getting used to the trigger. It is a surpsingly easy change to go from a polymer to a 1911, but I am not sure if it would be easy for me going the other way around.

Anyways, good luck shooting and be safe!

Nice shooting and welcome to the wonderful world of 1911s! It'll only get better as you get more used to it.

There is one big glaring problem though, 1911's are an addiction. I used to laugh when I would hear 1911 owners say that as they purchased their gazillionth one, but believe me now, they ARE an addiction, and an expensive one at that. I'm already trying to scrap up enough money between sofa cushions and under rugs to get another one without having to tell the wife the bank account was attacked by the "Gun Monkey".

Thats some mighty fine shootn pardner!!!! You shootn ball rounds or what? Get your hands on some good 200grn handcast lead target loads over some Bullseye powder and really watch those groups shrink!!!! I have been shooting Bullseye matches with this load in over 10 different pistols, from STI's, Les Baers, AMT's and custom 1911's and have NEVER found one that didn't shoot almost one hole groups at that distance!!!! Don't tell your buddies what your shootn and you won't have to buy lunch for awhile!!!!!!!!

You are absolutely right they are an addiction. I shoot a Smith and Wesson 1911 and am in the process of tuning it to me. It seems the more I shoot it the more I want to shoot it!
