The 111,the Edge, now called the Axis is a lower end rifle. It doesn't have the Accu-trigger or the accu stock like the 111.

read my original post I added to it. Those are the two major differences that I know of. And from what I understand that Accu-trigger is very nice

Go with the 111, you will be much happier in the long run.

I wouldn't buy a Savage without the Accutrigger. IMO the Accutrigger is worth the difference in price

I bought a new Savage 111 GCNS Bolt-action in a 7mm-08 caliber,it has the wood stock and the Accu-trigger,its a very nice looking and accurate gun in my opinion. It is a nicer gun and the Accu-trigger is worth having!

A friend of mine bought the Savage Edge Combo Gun in Camo with the Bushnel 3X9X40mm scope in a .243 it has the synthetic Camo stock and detachable clip,Bolt-action gun.I helped him sight it in and in my opinon is a very nice entry level Rifle and was very afforable!Still its a nice Gun that is well made and accurate too.We sighted the gun in using Hornady 100 grain Custom bullets!
