Default RE: Broken casing extraction

My gunsmith just uses a piece of copper wire bent at a right angle ,cut off with a pair of pliers . He files the edge of the hook flat and it catches the lip of the case and pulls it right out . Then he charges me ten bucks for the wire . He said to use copper because it is softer than the steel and won' t mark it .
