The 35 whelen is a 30-06 necked up to .35 cal.Loaded generaly with 225gr bullets or 250 gr. I think Townsen Whelen desinged the round. This gun makes one heck of deer, elk, blk bear rifle out to 300yds after that trajectory falls off.I have one in a custom built 98 mauser w/2.5-7 burris and it smacks' em down.

The .35 Marlin is really the .35 Remington. It is not nearly as powerful as the .35 Whelen! Like comparing a 30-30 to at least a 30-06!

There is no " 35 Marlin" , although there are Marlin rifles chambered for the .35 REMINGTON! If this is what you' re asking about, the difference is about like the difference between a .30/30 and a .30/' 06!!

Not unless you use a pretty big hammer to drive them into the chamber!!
