Do you know if its a "sporter", "XTR", "Featherweight", etc.... I'd like to see a pic of it.
6.5 Swede is a fairly rare caliber in any gun....not necessarily meaning that it would be more valueable in that caliber. As far as "worth"...I'm not and expert on gun values,(I'm an expert on buying a gun and then losing my @#$ when I have to sell it) but I'd have to guess no more than it was new in 1983, around $400-600 depending on the model, and I doubt they made any special editions or commemoratives in 6.5 Swede. But, as with anything, it's really worth as much as you're willing to spend or as much as he wants to sell it for. I'm almost 100% certain its a push feed (PF) and not a Controlled Round Feed (CRF). They stopped that in 1964 ( which is one reason pre-64 model 70's fetch a higher price), and did not bring it back until 1992 when they introduced the "Classic" series model 70. No matter wether it is or not is irrelevant to me. I've owned 6 of them, PF, CRF, and CRPF, and loved them all. Two of which now belong to my brother, as I knew he would keep them to pass on to his sons.
Anyway, You're looking at an almost 30 year old unfired rifle in, IMO, the best model ever built...The Winchester Model 70!!! I'm sure I'll catch some flack over that from the Remington guys, and I will never say "your rifle is a POS", no matter what make it is. You like your rifle for the reasons that you do....just as I love me sum model 70 for the reasons that I do.
Hope this helped and good luck with it if you do get it.
