Default Need advice on new rifle

I want to get new rifle. I have looked at a Weatherby Mark V 257 Mag n the Model 85 Sako in a 3006 or 338 fed. I haven't really looked at any other 1s.

Any suggestions.

I think a large determining factor should be what you intend to use the rifle for. I'd likely give vastly different recommendations based on what type of animal you want to be hunting.

Sako Model 85 in .30-06 is always a great choice !

I own a Sako and I used to own a Weatherby. My vote is for the Sako. I am currently in the market for another rifle, it will most likely be a Sako.

If I wanted a .257wby I'd probably get that Remington CDL-SF

but my vote would be go for a Sako in 270 WSM or 300 WSM

I got to shoot a new Winchester Model 70 in 300 WSM the other day. It was very smooth, good looking, and shot very well. Just something else to look at. Have fun.

I would not be considering anything under .284 diameter if elk was on the menu.

The .257 Weatherby is a fine deer rifle and is used for elk.....but IMO it's not an elk rifle at all.....
