Default Remington Model 597™ VTR

Has anyone tried these for squirrel hunting? These are a AR style rifle. Im thinking about getting one but im not sure if there good for squirrel hunting.

i have one.. haven't hunted with it, but mine has been reliable as far as feeding. The problem is you need to scope it as it doesn't come with sites.

Its not the VTR but I have a regular Rem 587 and i can rapid shoot all 10 round with CCI mini mag HP without any problems. THe thing groups at 50 yards insanely tight.
