Tikka T3 270 WSM

Thinking of getting a Tikka T3 270 WSM. I hunt with a Marlin 30-30 now. Would there be a big difference in the Range that I would have to shoot at ? I'de like some opinions on the Tikka T3.
If its not that big of a move from what I hunt with now then I aint gonna get it. Thank you for any opinions. I have a Nikon prostaff 3x9x50 $200 scope would go real nice on that gun i think.

There is alot of difference in the range of a 30-30 and a 270 WSM a couple hundred yards atleast. One thing to think about unless you handload is how easy it is to find the ammo around your area. I sold a 270WSM last year mainly because I couldn't find ammo around here for it and when I did find it a in another town it was always around $35-$50 a box.

.270 win would be a great bookend for your .30-30.

The 270wsm is a long range rifle it's going about 3200 fps were your 3030 is about 2300fps. The wan will have more knockdown than a 3030 also. That being said a 270 winchester is a fantastic cartrige and I'd opt for it over the wsm. Ammo is cheaper and easier to find for the 270 win a box of shells for the wsm will go about 35+ a box where walmart has 270 Winchester ammo for 18 a box. Both are superior to a 3030 past 150 yards. The Tikka T3 is a awsome gun I've got one in 30-06 and it's accurate and handles amazing I'd go for it.

I would stay with a .270 and not the wsm. Like they said the ammo is the issue. The .270 is a nice calibur.
