Wondering what the weight of a Model 70 synthetic stock is (on a 7mm rem mag classic)? Trying to find alternatives to lighten the rifle.

hmmm...I' m not sure on the weight, but I know it' s lighter than the wood stock The gun with the barrel will probably be around 7.5 to 8 pounds or so. I' m not positive on that, just a guess-timate.lol
If it were me, I like a heavier stock to lower the recoil on the rifle. That' s just me, but I' m not buying the gun

...and I like a lighter stock, so you don' t have as much to lug into the woods or up the mountain. [8D]

losthwy ...no I looked at Mcmillan stocks and they weighed 32 ounces ...a very good stock but hefty for mly application ...I ended up getting a garrett accurlite stock put on it...this guy is no longer in business but it ended up being as heavy as a HighTech Bansner stock....If Bansner had been in business thats the stock that is going on the gun otherwise a quality laminate. All depends on the application. Your not saving any weight with those tupperware synthetic junk they put on most factory guns.
