Info on the new Remington 887

I am looking to get my son a 12 gauge for mostly deer hunting. I have looked on line and it seems to get good reviews. I have an 870 and love it but he likes the looks of the 887 and the armorlock coating. I was just wondering if any one has shot it and if it truely is the softest shooting 12 gauge pump that Remington makes.
