Default Savage Edge vs. Savage Clip package?

Any one know if there is any difference in the two guns other than the stocks? I just bought the Clip gun in .270 at Bass Pro thinking it was basically the same as the Edge, but now I'm wondering if the Edge may be better? Both guns are the same price here except Dicks sporting goods sells the Edge and Bass Pro sells the clip gun.

What is this "clip" gun you are talking about.

The edge is Savages lowest grade basic entry level rifle. Anything else that Savage makes is going to be a step up from the edge.

I assume he is talking about a detachable box mag vs floor plate model. It's available in the weather warrior series...maybe others as well.

If the one you bought fits you well that's all that matters. If you like the edge better then get it. Talking fit here not looks.

I was thinking that too but the edge has a detachable magazine.

Yeah some of the other savage models are offered with a detach mag as well. Ie: the weather warrior I reference prior. My neighbour has 2, are a few years old, ss/syth warrior both have detach mags.

The "Edge" has a detachable box magazine also.

That could be what he is talking about ?

The "Edge" also comes in those scoped package deals.

Who knows.......................???

Its a 111 model, called "clip package". I think its a special package sold by Bass Pro. Its the same price as the edge sold at Dicks Sporting goods. Here is a link to brose models.

LEE, if you are referring to the 111FXP3 then the differences are that the 111 has an accutrigger and is sightly shorter in overall length.
