Default Cougar hunt gun poll?

man this place has been lame lately, so until a month from now with me showing off my 300" 6x6....haha....

pick a cougar hunt weapon

my debate is .30-30 rifle
or .44mag revolver

but what's your pick?

I'd go with the lever, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't be wearing a sidearm.

Lever 30-30 would be perfect. They dont take alot of killiing, a little Win. 94 would carry easily with alot of running around, and for the close range cats are killed at, it is more than enough gun.

With what's here...probably the 1894FG (.41 mag Marlin) with one of the other 41 Rugers on the belt. Just something about the cartridge.

On my last "lion" hunt I used a M-92 in .25-20.

It was in Utah and using dogs and the range was usually 15-20 yards up in a tree. My guide said a .30-30 was completely enough gun but was satisfied with my rifle as well.
