Default M91/30 7.62x54r Questions

OK so i just bought one these bad boys off my buddy, looks cool its in good shape i mean it was a russian sniper rifle! But i have big plans for this one and i have a few questions about what i should do with it.

1. I plan on putting an ATI camo synthetic stock on it
2. Also the ATI scope mount and bolt kit
3. Is there anyway to put a saftey on this gun?
4. What are some of your handloads for hunting?
5. Any of your 7.62x54r hunting pics or gun pics?

Thanks for the help

my brother swears by the mosin for moose and deer. the only downside to them imo is that some have barrels meant to shoot .311 diameter bullet (often the 91/30) and some are bored to shoot true .308 bullets so reloading may be a problem. here in canada .311 bullets are very common because of the number of .303 shooters so my brother has no problem with finding bullets. i dont know about the powder loads but i know hes managed a safe load that sends a 174 matchking at 3010 fps from the 32 inch tube on his sako/mosin vtk m27. its a great deer load but i dont think hes tried it on anything bigger. i know he also tried the early ati scope mount with a new bolt handle and i know he had lots of trouble cutting/grinding the bolt off.

ati stocks take alot of sanding and such but are stout.theres 2 trigger options, timiny now makes a trigger with trigger block safety and huber makes an adjustable trigger but no safety.also boyds makes a laminate stock for them that looks great.loads are pretty much the same as any gotta work them up.i use 53.4gr of 4350 and 150gr barnes tsx and they just rock.sierra makes 180 gr in .311.

It's already got a safety. Pull on the back of the bolt and turn it to the left so it locks on the receiver. You can make a d-loop mod to make this easier. Haven't worked on a hunting load. I just plink with whatever I can load it with, though I wouldn't shoot it far enough on deer to even worry about figuring out some special load
