Default Marlin XL7?

Has anyone had any first hand experience with these? I work in a sporting good store and we carry them, but I haven't been able to shoot one yet. I have a good feeling that this gun would make one hell of a deer gun for the price. I'm looking to get one in .270 Win, to replace the .270 I had stolen a few weeks ago.

Looking for some input!

I am pretty picky and I cannot find anything wrong with mine. I put a 3-9x40 nikon scope on it and shot 1" group out of the box with rem. corelokt 130 gr. ammo then I hand loaded some 130 gr. sierra gk.s and am getting probable 3/4" group or a little better at 100 yards. Good gun ,nice trigger, and recoil pad keeps me from getting beat up.

I have one in 25-06 and can cloverleaf em at 100 on a good day. The one thing I notice is if you don't allow the barrell to cool somewhat after the first two shots, you can get a flyer, up to an inch or two off at 100. This could most likely be resolved with a little work on the bedding, but I haven't had time to address it yet. I love this gun and would highly recommend it.
