In order of preference.....
1. .270 winchester
2. .257 Roberts
3. 7x57 mm Mauser
4. .35 Whelen
5. .303 British
Sorry fellas, fives as high as I can go. Havent hunted with enough other calibers to make the judgement. Though I must say with these 5 you will hardly be undergunned in most places.

If there could only be 20 in the world?
I solved the riddle...

.223 Rem. (sorry .22-250, get a .223 or .243)
.243 Win.
.257 Wby

.270 Win. (probably only need 1 .270 so have your pick)
.270 WSM
7mm-08

.308
.30-06 (can't mess with the '06)
.300 WSM (course we need a .30cal magnum)
.300 RUM (1 supermag in .30cal is ok with me)

.340 Wby. (what the .338win.mag wishes it was, if you want a .338cal get a .340!)
.375 H&H (No need for anything else in .375)
.416 Rigby (we only need 1 .416, 1 popular one would be nice, so whichever that ends up being)
.458 Lott (the .458win.mag. sucks)

These aren't in order of preference, I'm going to list them from small to large so I don't forget any or list one twice.

.17 hmr - If you ever hunt squirrels with one you'll understand why.
.204 ruger
.22 lr - The best caliber ever invented
.223
.22-250 -

.243 win
.25 wssm - I'd like to have one in an AR-15
6.8 spc - See above
.270
7mm-08

.30-30 - Just a great deer cartridge.
.308
.30-06
.32 spcl
.35 Rem

.300 win mag
.338 win mag
.375 h&h
.45-70
.50 bmg

Here's a much shorter list, capable of handling everything on the continent
22/250, 25/06, 7mm RM, 300 WM, 338WM, and the 416RM...what else would anyone need but these and you could actually get rid of either the 7 mag or the 300 mag if you wanted to cut her down some....
