Need a little info.
My uncle wants to sell me this hand gun and I don't know what to give him for it. It's a Cold 38 Police Positive revolver. It had a 1/4" chunk out of the grip on one side and as you can see from the picture it has some pretty good pitting. The Colt emblem is severely worn and is tough to read. As far as the working parts, the cylinder "gear" must be worn as it doesn't line up properly to the barrel when you pull the hammer back so I definitely won't shoot it in that condition.
The barrel has some patent dates on it, the last one being July 4th 1905.
The serial number is 185188 with a W stamped under it.
I'm sure this isn't worth a whole lot, but can any of y'all give me a descent offering price for it?
