Tom,
barrelmakers do not stamp barrels on the sides, they stamp the ends which are cut off anyways, never knew a smith to stamp the barrelmaker on it. so its a guess at best. I have no less than 10 custom barreled firearms, none have the maker on them.
If they shoot well the smith gets all the credit!!!

My Krieger says "Krieger Barrels" right on the side of it...

Alright you guys had me second guessing myself so I just checked...and yep it says...
".270 Win"
"Krieger Barrels"
Its stamped just ahead of the receiver on the left side of the rifle. Its not new either, I'm guessing its a 90's vintage rifle...maybe the smith did it??

well prolly a gun rebarreled by kreiger barrels, they use to smith not sure if they still do. mine was marked on the breech end I think, make, cal, twist, the smith engraved the chambering and nothing else. My lilja barreled custom guns are marked the smith and chambering, nothing about the make.
RR
Not sure whats up with it, oh well doesn't really matter either way. My Broughton isn't marked, only chambering and smith's name.

None of my custom barrels are identified as to the maker, only the cartridge and smith's initials...... some go back about 10 yrs., some pretty recent.
