Default hornady or cci

just bought a savage 93r17hmr,which of these two brands do you guys think will shoot better.

That's something only your gun can tell you. And the only way to find out is to buy, or try, different makes of ammo in it.

all .17 ammo is made at cci and all are vmax bulets, the only difference is the color of the tip

My Marlin shoots the 17gr. Hornady better than other 17gr.brands.But It also shoots the Winchester 20gr. gamepoint better than the others 20 gr. ammo. So you just have to shoot it all till you find the one that works.

I noticed the 17 HMR CCI's are called jacketed hollow points and do not have a polymer tip like a V-max.............What's up with that ?

I have the same rifle and use hornady 20grain xtp bullets. And not all 17 ammo is the same.

it not quite the same, they have different priming mixtures specified by each company. and several different bullets, thats why different rifles shoot different brands better.

All 17 HMR is made in the same place but it certainly is not the same. I have FMJ, hollowpoint and Vmax ammo...in a two different weights.

always double check the info thrown loosely about the internet ................
