Default Winchester SX3 safety

I need some opinions please. I am right handed but am left eye dominant so I have shot left handed all of my life. I bought a new shotgun (right handed) but am having a problem with the safety. Almost every gun that I have ever shot / owned has had a cross bolt type safety (including the new gun) but when I take the safety off and pull the trigger, the safety button is sticking so far out on this particular gun that my trigger finger engages the safety after every shot. The gun does have an ambidextrous safety and I reversed it to fit a lefty and it solved the problem. The question is, will I ever get used to the safety on that particular gun being backwards from what I am used to? Any other ideas to solve this problem other that buying a different gun? I really like the Super X 3. Sorry if I have confused everyone, myself included.

you could always try taking down the safety a bit.
