I have a Weathery Vanguard synthetic in 300 Wby Mag that can shot 1" groups on a good day with my handloads. BUT...it has a bad trigger. I think I could produce more consistent groups with this gun if I wasn't trying to maintain site-picture and wrestle with the trigger at the same time.
What do you guys recommend? New trigger or have a smith tune mine?
The Vanguard essentially is a Howa 1500 with some changes to meet Weatherby's spec's, if it is the same trigger it is easily adjustable to about 2 1/2 - 3 lbs.

Just look at the parallels of the Nazi regime and the Obama Administration amazingly similar arent' they.
Have you adjusted the trigger? I traded for a vanguard in 22-250 and after following the directions on how to properly adjust the trigger, it feels great.
Check this guys website out www.erniethegunsmith.com I just order a trigger spring from him for my Ruger Hawkeye and did the work with the instructions sent along with the spring. It was very simple and detailed.
