Default Wow! Is Winchester now offering a .375h&h?

http://www.winchesterguns.com/produc...sp?family=001C

Model 70 Safari Express? Could it be true? I kinda want a synthetic/stainless in .375 though...?

oh and of course they offer a .458win.mag, not .458Lott?

Should I wait for a syn/stainless version in .375h&h?

From everything I've read, the winchester model 70 action and the mauser 98 were the 2 best controlled feed actions...then winchester stopped making them....now theyre back...finally a new model 70...

I've heard good and bad things about the CZ action...also don't want a 25.6" barrel on my .375

Given a choice between a CZ and an FN made M70, I'd take the CZ in a heartbeat. Much better gun, fit and finish wise.

I can not say that I would agree with this. The CZ rifles I have seen have not impressed me much at all.

The CZ is OK, but would need work to make it acceptable to me. There are some outfits that specialize in making the CZ better, but the price for the lowest package is more than the price of the gun.
What did you end up going with?

Also for around $1000 I think the winchester would be a helluva .375H&H

im not sure i have ever heard anything bad about the cz? especially when talking safari grade guns,in fact if you ever talk to a builder about building custom big bore rifles the FIRST action they will bring up is the 550 .as far as finish i have a 550 in 375 h&h and one in the 458 lott and both look great.and many say the cz rifle is the MOST widely used rifle in africa. the winchester and cz both are great rifles.in a real dangerous game hunting situation most choose the cz with its history in africa and the fact that it holds 5 rounds in the magazine compared to Winchesters 3 ,and its legendary 550 action with the Mauser style claw extractor and adjustable and a set trigger it is hard to beat .http://webpages.charter.net/375magnum/rifles.htm

Talking .375 H & H investigations...

I've been giving those consideration also. The Winny just may be the ticket. I have handled a few new M70's (although in normal calibers) that were decent enough. I wasn't particularly impressed with the CZ's and the Kimber's cost too much. A Ruger in .375 Ruger would probably be o.k. but ammo isn't that plentiful (and what's to say it will be around in a few years ?). I've also got a couple of Ruger's so something different may be better. Whatever.
