Default 5.7x28 round for p-dogs

Just wondering if the 5.7x28 round has been talked about on this site before? It looks like it would be a good round for shooting p-dogs. What bolt action would be needed to build this rifle? Could this round could fill the void for small caliber to compete with the 22hornet? Just a thought.....

Bought one of the FN 5.7s when they came out ( One of those things I just had to have..LOL) then had to buy the 5.7 upper for the AR based rifle. All along I was thinking Hmmmm wouldn't it be cool if they made a heavy barrel bolt rifle to go with the rest .Then you would have the complete package.Still have not seen one yet.

The 5.7x28mm FN is designed as a pistol and SMG round, and the ballistics aren't that stellar even compared to the rather anemic .22 Hornet, which averages 500 fps more velocity and roughly twice the energy of the 5.7x28mm FN. Since you want a bolt action rifle, there are a half-dozen MUCH better choices in .224cal than the 5.7x28 FN. I'd look to the .223 Remington, or better yet, the .22-250 Rem.

Already have those cals drift . Just seen the 5.7 cartridge just thought it would be a good one for P-dogs. Was thinking it would be comparable to the hornet through the same length barrel. Also curious as to what bolt action could be used to build this rifle.
