JMHO,But having owned a few 110's in my time in different calibers.(.270,30-06,7mm rem mag)Most kick like a mule I believe and have been told that this is because of the rake and comb of the stock( don't know your experience level so let me just say " the way the stock is shaped ,built).I would suggest that you install a higher end recoil pad .Decellerator ,Kick-ezze,etc.Most 110's have a pretty heavy trigger from the factory .Install recoil pad ,do trigger job, install some good glass and you should have one heck of a fine shooting rifle.Good luck with your new Savage......Alton

If this is a newer model with the accu trigger you should be good to go get a nice scope on it and your set You should do well with it I ve uesd 30-06 for 35yrs its a good all round rifle . If you have a model with out the accu trigger and your trigger pull is that bad you may want to think about changing it out for a adjustable unit .

If it's a newer one, I think they have a good pad, the accutrigger is easy to mess with, the glass that comes with the packages will work--but isn't good. Accuracy from a savage is usually easy to get.

I've never shot one of these in 30-06 so not sure how it would kick. I've got a friend with one but I've never shot it. However, I have shot one in a .243 and to me it's one of my favorite guns I've shot. I don't normally like synthetic stocks but this gun is just light and fit me like a glove. It was super accurate With the cheap Winchester Power Points I put 3 shots in the bulls eye for a group under and inch at 100 yards. Just a awesome gun. The one I shot was with the Accu Trigger btw and the trigger was about perfect. Overall for the price this is one of my favorite bolt action guns I've shot. Honestly, I'm a semi auto fan but if I was getting a bolt action this is probably the one I'd get.

How did you get it for $325 btw? They are like $400 or so here at Wally World. Or does yours not have the Accu Trigger?

The savages do kick a tad more. I have a model 10 7mm-08 and it kicks almost as hard as my marlin 30.06. But i wouldn't worry, 30.06 isn't all that bad to begin with.
