Default Bullet Question. Dont know where to post

I do not know where to post this but this seems to be the closest forum to it. Can anyone recommend a Long Range bullet for a Remington 270. My wife and I would like to do some Long Range target practice just for the fun of it. We would like to shoot out to 1000 yds. We are not hunting at these distances, kind of think it would be fun just to see if we could hit a target at these distance. Thanks. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Berger VLD's...and LOTS of research, practice and hopefully you have a Nightforce or 30mm Loopy because hold over isn't going to work at that distance...

Jimmy,
Any standard SBT (spitzer boattail) 150 grain bullet should serve you well. A possible problem is that with many scopes on standard mounts, there is not enough elevation adjustment for a 1000 yd zero.

jeepkid has it right, in alot of the monster cartridges you can make 1K with any good heavy for caliber bullet, in cartridges the size of the 270 win. you need all the advantages you can get, so look into the bergers and other match bullets with very high BC's.
also make sure the SD is pretty high, low SD bullets tend to really open groups up at extended range.

aside from a target style bullet, checkout Nosler Accubonds.....high BC for a hunting bullet I've found, I think they make 140grs in the .270, perhaps they make a 150 as well or even 160.
