Question TC Venture or Marlin XL7

So I'm looking for a lowered priced 30-06. From what I have read, there is roughly 4 or so guns that meet this criteria....Marlin XL7, Tikki, Savage, and Thompson Center Venture.

I have narrowed it down to the following....and I would like your thoughts.

Marlin XL7 - $289.99
Thompson Center Venture - $344.25

Thoughts?

Stevens Model 200 as well, made by Savage. $299 in my neck of the woods.

Pick one, but make sure to put some "good" glass on it.

Anyone of them will out shoot me, once I find the "right ammo".

A "good" scope will make me, "the best I can be" !!!

The Marlin is an amazing rifle for what you get for 300$. The TC Venture MAY offer a little better accuracy out of box due to TC's excellent quality barrels, but at a cost of almost 200$ more. You can get a Marlin XL-7, scope, sling, and ammo for what you'd pay for the venture.

How can you save more bucks on a Tikka when it sells for a lot more than 300$? The Marlin XL-7 is not a package deal-to my knowledge it don't come from the factory as a package deal at this time.

I think he meant to save some more money to get the Tikka. I'm a Tikka fan also, which would be my preference....
