Another Mossberg 500 question

Hey everyone. I have have a couple of questions for ya' ll. I inherited a 12 gauge Mossberg 500AT from my grandfather. What does the AT stand for? Can I safely shoot slugs through it? It has a full choke on it. How much would a fully rifled slug barrel be? How long could I shoot with it? How much would a good scope for it be? Thanks for any information you might have.

riffled barrel not to expensive. try mossberg.com for any questions and also you can buy anything you need there for your gun. i bought a riffled barrel for my 835 camo with fiber optic siters for under $200 slug barrels for 500 are well under $150

I own a 12 gauge Mossberg 500 as well. I went out and purchased the rifled barrel w/ cantilever scope base through Mossberg.com, and the damn barrel was almost as much as the gun.

I think I paid $200 in change for the gun, and the rifled barrel took me for another $179 bucks!!!

You can buy replacement barrels from Cabela' s at a much cheaper price than you can directly from Mossberg. If you have internet access, why in the world would you buy from the manufacturer and pay full retail? I have bought several shotgun barrels (Remington) from Cabelas over the last several years.
