Default Howa Hogue Scoped Combo

I Bought a Hogue stocked Howa 1500 with a Nikko Sterling scope at Bass Pro Three weeks ago. Let me say I do really like the rifle. It is accurate and very comfortable to shoot. The scope on the other hand is a tragedy. It was fine during the sighting in,but after a whole one day of hunting the scope is fogged inside and there is actually a piece of something loose inside the scope that floats around and blocks the sight picture. I have never seen a scope actually fall apart in thirty years of hunting. They said I can send the scope back and they will send a new one after inspecting mine. Of course next week is my one week off to hunt so Im basically screwed. I realize that you usually dont expect a lot from a combo scope, but come on this is rediculous!

Best use for that scope is to throw it at the guy that sold it to you. Get a new one. You can get a Nikon prostaff for about 150 bucks. Yeah, sucks to have to spend more money, but the scope is everything. Personally, a Leupold VXII is the deal, but it probably cost more than you paid for the combo.

I'd look into either a decent Nikon or a Burris Full Field II to do that rifle justice.

Actually pretty good scope. You can usually find a deal with them as well. Last year you could get a GPS with it.

I know I picked one up on clearance from Dicks Sporting Goods last year for $199 with the free Garmin eTrex GPS. I didn't need the GPS but wanted the scope and I've used the GPS a few times. I'm not complaining for free. I happen to really be impressed with the scope too.

Get the replacement scope and use it as a spare. Replace it now with a basic Nikon or Leupold and you will be good to go. For the money, I have 4 Cabela's pine ridge scopes and they all hold through the recoil. 1 on a 25-06, 1 on a 7mm mag, and 2 on 50cal Mzls.
