Default Which one would you choose?

OK.... Still looking for a bolt-action .30-06....
Two options:
Marlin XL7: black synthetic stock, NIB - $210
Howa 1500: wood stock, NIB - $250

Which would you choose and why?

I'd take the Marlin. I've never handled a Howa - or Marlin bolt-gun, for that matter. But Marlin's levers are absolutely top-shelf - so I'd go with the Marlin.

My $.02

Definitely the Howa.

Where are you finding a NIB Howa for $250?

I've heard good things about the Marlin, and planned on buying one, but I would grab the Howa for just $30.00 more IN A HEARTBEAT ... Doesn't mean I wouldn't soemday own the Marlin, but I never thought I could buy them at near the same price.

With the prices you quote you must go for the Howa.

My reason is simple. For way more years than I've heard good things about the Marlin XL7 I've heard GREAT things about the Howa ...

Believe I'd buy one of each!

Thanks guys. I wish I had the time and the income to buy both. I've got to sell one of my muzzle loaders to pay for this one.
