Default How much can I expect to pay?

I'd like to buy a used Rem 7600, 7400 carbine in 30-06. No scope and I don't care about the physical condition as long as it's mechanically sound. What is the going price for theses guns used? I want a carbine 30-06 with a pump or semi auto action. Any other guns out there that fit that description? What about the Rem. 750? is that a new gun in their line or has it been around for a while?

I payed $239 last year for a used 760 in good mechanical condition in 30-06. It wasn't the prettiest to look at, not ugly but just showed it years of use.

Depending on where you at I'd say about $250 to $350.

Especially the Remington 760 is a gun almost never shot out or worn out. It's extremely strong and usually quite accurate. Used guns run 250 to 400 depending on condition. You could do much worse than buying a used Remington pump in .30-06 or .270 or a number of other calibers,,,,such as .243, .244 .308 and a few others

I have a 7600 with the longer barrel and a scope. I've had it for probably 30 years. I love the way it fits me and when I point it at something the sights line right up (it fits me perfect). I have been doing a lot of tracking and the carbine would suit me better and I would also go iron sites only as most shots are very close and don't need the weight or the hangups while pushing thru the brush. Also tracking is real hard on a gun. It's wet all day and gets banged around a bit. A gun with some miles on it would be all ready to go! I'm in Wis. How can I find out where the gun shows are so I can look for one there? Where else can I find used guns?

Get on google and search for guns shows in the newspaper. Also look on gun broker.com, they had a bunch on their a few months back. You'll pay between 225 and 400 depending on the condition.
