No its not O.K.
Take it to where you bought it from, Taurus has a lifetime repair policy.

I had a Taurus Tracker 22 magnum, the cylinder wouldn't lockup when the hammer was pulled back.
The gun shop I got it from sent it to Taurus, they fixed it, and even paid for the shipping to them, and back.

So save your money, and let them fix it.

Taurus guns are of very poor quality. Have them fix it. Sell it and get yourself a real gun.

Sorry to trash your new piece. Better you know it now then later.

statjunk...you don't sound very sorry about trashing anything...thanks but the "real gun" stuff is off the charts unkind!

The man just told you his honest opinion, and I don't see anything "off the charts unkind" about him stating that Taurus guns are poor quality. He really didn't even IMPLY that you were an idiot for buying a Taurus in the first place. He even went out of his way to make it clear that he wasn't trying to be nasty. Rather, he was giving you what he feels to be good advise to get your money back and spend it on a higher quality gun while you can. If his post offended you so much that you would classify his remarks as "off the chart unkind," then I'd say you are the problem in this interaction, not statjunk. Talk about thin skinned game.

Yes, OK, let him sell the Tauraus and seek out a "real gun". I'm going to go way out on a very thin limb and guess that dryrider bought the Judge for what it is and that is a rather unique pistol.

So how about some witty suggestions as to which "real gun" manufacturer he should look to that is comparable to the Judge?

Provided this gun shop has a qualified gunsmith to perform this and they aren't going to charge you some crazy amount of money I would just let them do it because this is exactly what Taurus is going to do if they do anything at all. It should only require a very minimal of honing to get a good fit.

Shotgun shells are notorious for being tight in guns that are able to shoot 45 colt also. This is because they are very low pressure compared to even a 45 colt and their chambers are typically a bit more "sloppy" when compared to metallic cartridge chambers because shotgun shells are made of plastic and the shells tolerances can vary wildly from one to the next. So if you have "tight" chambers on your judge you will likely have the problem you are experiencing.

The only thing about another person working on the gun is, it will Void the manufactures Warrenty.

Thats what I was saying, i just didn't have it in my first reply.
I agree Taurus is a cheaper made gun, But they do have the life time repair policy.

Take it for what you want.
I have two Taurus hand guns, Both Trackers, a 22 Lr, a 22 Magnum.

My favorite hand gun, is Smith & Wesson.
