I've been working on my Marlin 917V which is a 17hmr. I have the trigger pull down to 3 1/4 pounds. I hope to get it down to about 2 pound after I use some JB weld to limit sear engagement. I also changed the trigger return spring with a spring out of a Bic mechanical pencil. Then I stripped the stock, when I got down to bare wood I bleached it. I dyed the stock with dark green rit dye that I mixed with denatured alcohol, and I finished it with Formsby's low gloss tung oil finish.
