One vote for the BAR. I own a .30-06 and is quite smooth without a nasty kick! I use this as my brush / stalk gun in tight / swampy areas. It's light and fairly nimble for me..

Sorry I don't have any direct experience with the BEN... My dad's buddy has one and likes it, for what it's worth.

x2 for the BAR. While I'm sure the R1 is a fine working rifle, it leaves a lot to be desired in it's over-the-top Eurotrash styling. The BAR, and in particular the BAR Safari, is both a great working AND looking rifle that I'd be proud to own.

I actually like the looks of the R1 and the fit is AWESOME! They shoulder like a shotgun, quick and on target right away. Have to keep them clean though...

I shot both, and own a bar (safari) and do not like the R1. Didn't shoot worth a crap.

X4 BAR. I don't much care for the looks of the R1.:s4:

Looks like the BAR is the one. Now what about these to Calibers 300win mag 300 wsm I have read one time that you can't shoot hot ammo through a auto is this true I use BARNES tsx and ttsx factory loads

Go shoulder both before you decide...

As long are the rifle likes the ammo (accuracy wise), then any factory ammo should function safely. The BAR is also well known for its excellent reliability, so as long as you keep it reasonably clean and properly lubricated (meaning enough lube, but not too much, especially in cold weather) it should function fine.

The BAR is also pretty well known for decent hunting accuracy, with < 2 MOA groups being the norm. I wouldn't EXPECT any greater than this, but I've also heard of guys getting sub-MOA accuracy from the BAR. Probably the biggest thing hindering the BAR's accuracy is the relatively crappy trigger pull. It's not as bad as the worst "lawyer triggers," but it's pretty bad by my standards (I like my hunting rifle triggers at between 1.5-2.5 lbs). My pure estimate would be that they run in the 5-7lb range from the factory. A gunsmith can reduce and clean up the trigger a bit, if you can find one that will do the work (for liability reasons).
