BigJ's "Show & Tell" (Lever Guns)

Ok folks, it's time for another installment of BigJ's Show and Tell. Today I'll focus on some of my lever guns. They range from the ordinary to the extremely rare. I hope you enjoy.....

Mossberg Model 402 .22

Marlin Model 39A .22


Marlin Model 336 Ring Carbine 30-30


Marlin Model 444 .444 Marlin (This gun was made in 1965 the second year of production for this rifle (and cartridge)


This is a Winchester Model 94 in 30-30 made for Sears and goes by the model "Ted Williams Model 100"


Here is a Centennial Winchester Model 94 "1894-1994" in 30-30


Another Winchester Model 94 in 30-30


This is a commemorative edition Winchester Model 94 "Sioux Carbine" 30-30


This is a pre 64 Winchester Model 94 (1963) 30-30


Here is a Winchester Centennial model 1866-1966. This rifle came out in 1966 to commemorate the 100th year of the famous "Yellow Boy" 1866 rifle.



Here is an actual Winchester Model 1866 Yellow Boy (circa 1877) chambered in the .44 Rim Fire.





This is a Winchester model 1892 (circa 1899) Saddle Ring Carbine 44-40


Here is a Winchester Model 1887 (circa 1888) This is a lever action 12ga shotgun! It's in probably the best shape of any of my old guns with almost all of it's original bluing intact. Not bad for a 121 year old shot gun.


Here is a Winchester model 1873 (circa 1884) 44-40 that was one of 10 Winchesters bought on consignment and then sold by Buffalo Bill Cody at one of his wild west shows.




That's all for now, I do have about 6-7 more Model 94's but they are packed away and I just don't feel like digging them out now. You all know what they look like (or you should by now) anyway.

Is that 12 gauge the same model used in Terminator 2?

I don't currently own a lever gun. I had a Rossi .44 Mag top ejecting lever action a long time ago. Fun to shoot, but not very accurate and the action wasn't very smooth. I'd really like to get a Marlin big-bore guide gun in stainless steel and laminate stocks. I think they look really sharp and would be great for the times I want to tromp through the really think stuff where shots are short and quick.

I'm not sure if it was or not, I'd have to see the movie again.

It's a cool old shotgun, it was designed by John M. Browning. The Model 1887 is one of the most unusual actions ever made by Winchester and was made from 1887 to 1901. Only about 65,000 were ever produced. It's a rolling block design shotgun and was chambered in 12 and 10 gauge. As stated this particular shotgun was made in 1888 so it's a pretty early model (2nd year of production) I have a feeling that as time goes by this shotgun will become even more and more collectible. Ya just don't see that many around these days.

I too like the Marlin S/S guide gun. I'd like to get one as well to keep my old Marlin 444 company.
