Yes you can, it might group better with a different choke, the kick is about the same as 5s if its a 2 oz load...

Yes you can.I tend to go with the #1 buckshot because it patterns better in my 870 and 1100.

Yes you can. I have as well as many friends. I shoot 000 instead though as it patterns better for me.

I've tried buckshot with a modified and a full choke and the full choke did better of the two for me. I know all guns are different though.

I've shot 3" shells as well as 3.5" 00 buckshot through a full choke and both did fine.

No problem, but like nchawkeye says a different choke might shoot better. The good news is that buckshot is cheap so it's easy to find a load that works, not likea turkey load that'll cost you $4 a shell. Pick up a box each of #1's, 00, and 000 in both 2 3/4" and 3" shells, then go pattern.

I would suggest a extended choke tube for buckshot. Either full or extra full. I like Trulock tubes because you can try them and send them back if yu don't like them. My son's 20 gauge with the factory full choke would only put 5 or 6 pellets on paper at 40 yards. Bought a extra full Trulock and all 20 pellets are now on paper.

I patterned at 40 yards,i bought some deer vital targets(life sized)9 hit it,3 in the heart,2 in the lungs,1 in hit an artery. It kicked less than 1 3/4oz 5s,thats good enough for me.I used the full choke.
