13pt - shooting a 3" or 3 1/2" 12 gauge magnum loads off a bench for patterning purposes is not on my list of fun things to do. And unless you have a horribly fitting or poor stock design on a 7mm Mag, it won't be as bad.
That being said, felt recoil is determined by several factors. The aformentioned stock design, recoil pad (width and thickness), the bullet weight, the rifle's overall weight all result in varying degrees of felt recoil.
But, IMO, if you can shoot 4 or 5 shots from a 12 gauge 3" off a bench, you shouldn't have any problem with a 7 mag. Especially with standard factory ammo.

I agree, The stoeger is a light gun and shooting 3" turkey loads in it, even when fitted w/ a sims slip on pad, is brutal. Ive also owned 3 7mags, and even shooting 160s was not even close to shooting 3'' 2oz turkey loads.

They are Winchester Supreme 1-3-4oz 5 shot. They kick pretty good!

It maybe just me but I really can't draw a comparison between a shotgun and rifle recoil. I have always found rifles push while a shotgun kicks. I say a shotgun present more discomfort then a rifle does. If you can handle your 12ga with mag loads the 7mm rem mag should present problems in terms of recoil.

As mentioned stock design and stock/rifle fit are major factors, if you buy a rifle that feels/fits good it will go a long way.

Like everyone has said mostly depends on stock design in my book.12Ga. =bad ,7mm= not so bad. Either will leave a lasting memory on the bench after a full session. But when you pull down on game you will never notice either one.

I have shot a buddy of mines 375 H&H mag several times. I truly think my rem 870 with 3.5 turkey loads has more recoil.

A lot of "felt recoil" is mental also. To me, a 7mm RM isn't much different than an '06 (rifles shot were A Bolt 7mm RM and a Sako 75 '06)

FYI
Its not possible for anyone to tell you how much something 'kicks' anymore than it is for them to tell you how something tastes.
Only you can figure that out for you.
Half of the percieved 'kick' is in the noise, wear good hearing protection and don't blink.
