Default ruger m77 30-06

I just got a ruger m77 30-06 with a weaver 4 x 32 scope for $400 at a gun show. The gun is in excellent/mint condition, was that a good deal?

I bought one that I knew to only have had five rounds through it for MY first deer rifle YEARS ago (finally stopped using my dad and grandpa' s rifles). It' s a standard M-77 mark II, and the only defect it had was one small scratch in the dump plate that I made when the guy let me shoot it (whoops, but it did bring down the price a bit ). I payed $380 for it, with the rings included, and a similar 4x glass to what you mentioned, which I never used on it anyway.

I' m going to say you got a great deal, if it' s in excellent condition, then the rifle alone was probably worth $400, since you can basically consider it new (which would have been $200-300 more) and the weaver is probably a $50-100 glass (been a while since I looked at any of theirs), so I' d say you came out smelling like a rose....as long as it shoots good, when someone tries to sell me a " like new" rifle, I always have to wonder why they are selling it?

Welcome to the board Jason, The Ruger M-77 is a nice rifle and for the price you did well.I have several of the M-77' s,mostly the " All Weather" rifles. Some are still NIB.They aren' t the most accurate rifles but more then enough for hunting.Good luck with it and once again welcome to the board.

Sounds like you did good! I just bought a Ruger M77 stainless 280 Rem. from another poster for just over $400 and it only has 3 boxes of ammo through the gun. I pick it up tomorrow.

Hudge -

Congrats on the Ruger ,sounds like you did okay on it . I have a few rugers and they are good shooting guns in my opinion . I have three of the all weathers that I got for $350. each but that was a couple years ago .
