Default BLR

Hey i got a question on the Browning BLR. With the takedown model can you take say the factory 308 barrel out and put in a 243 barrel? OR go from a 30-06 to a 270? or anything else along those lines. I would imagine that they would have to be the same action length cartridge. Thanks for any info.

Since the lugs lock into the barrel extension, I think any extra barrels would have to be individually fitted to the rifle bolt. But it could be done, on a custom basis, I suspect.

Usually switch barrel guns with 2 barrels are about the same money as 2 guns.
I ran across a website that has switch barrel Ruger No.1 rifles. Cool idea until I saw the cost.

The headspace & locking lugs has to be fitted for each barrel individually. Since Browning don't offer extra barrels for sale like that, you would be about as well off to simply buy 2 rifles. It COULD be fitted for interchangeable barrels but would it be worth the cost to you?

Okay. Thanks for the info guys. I dont think it would be worth the cost to do that so i would either buy two guns or just get a 308 or a caliber that can cover a wide array of game.

Two guns with quick release scope rings so the scope can be moved between rifles?
Atleast until a deal can be found on optics.
