Ruger scope ring question....

The new Hawkeye comes with medium height scope rings right???

I like to mount the scope as low as possible, and I know that a scope with a 40mm objective will fit with "low" Ruger rings. (not touch the barrel).

Does anyone know if there is a problem with the bolt hitting the eyepiece when raised/cycled if you used Ruger's low rings?

Well, it kind of depends on the scope brand. Some "Euro" types have somewhat larger eyepieces than say typical Leupolds. The bolt clearance on these may be tight. I have a Ruger Hawkeye compact with a Ultralight Leupy 3-9 X 36 and it works fine.

I currently have a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 on my Hawkeye with the medium rings, plenty of clearance to the ocular bell. I don't think you would have a problem but the only way to know is to try. In all honesty though with a 40 mm objective I think you might have clearance issues with the barrel.
