Default What would you pay for this gun.....

Remington 700 .223
Bull barrel and 3.5 x12 Simmons scope(I know the scope isn't worth crap).
He started at $750 and I asked how much without the scope and said same money.
Said it hasn't been shot but to site in and very little since.
Comes with box and papers.

Sounds like I'm the only person that has shown interest in it and he's now at $675 w/o scope.
He's posting it on a local classified ad.

I really want this gun but i'm having a hell of a time convincing my wife since I just got my XDm about 2months ago.

Sweet rifle, offer $600, nice rifles at a good price are hard to find, ex-wifes are not.

I own the same model rifle chambered in 22-250. My rifle is a tack driver. IF I did not alreadyown a 223, I would want to buy this one. Offer him $650-with the scope. Used rifles do not hold there value.

I paid $550 for my22-250that looks identical to this rifle, my rifle was NIB Ibought itat a local gun store.

I'd wave $6 bills in front of him. Once it's shot it's no longer NIB. IMO, $750 is too much.

I myself won't give over 500 dollars for a used 700 BDL. Thats me. I find em for that price pretty regularly, and sold about 10 in my life for that or around.

I'd give $500, maybe $550 if it's in absolutely perfect shape. If he thinks you're lowballing him, tell him to try to sell it to a gun dealer and see what he's offered. It may be nearly new, but it's still used and almost all new firearms lose significant value the instant the first round goes down the pipe. He should also understand that the scope isn't worth anything toward the value of the used rifle. All of the cheap China specials aren't worth crap for resale. If he had a Leupold, Zeiss, Nikon or other mid to high end scope on it it'd be worth more, but not with a Simmons. I'd offer him $500 cash-in-hand without the scope. If he wants to dicker, I'd go as high as $550. If he won't take $550, take your cash and go scour the local gun and pawn shops. I'd bet that sooner or later you'd find another similar Model 700 for $500 or less.

Mike

another vote for offering $500.... if you go there and show some bills he'll probably take it. if not leave your number and walk out. Maybe he'll call you.
